Job Overview:
The position of National Consultant involves preparing and delivering two training sessions as outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR). The consultant will be responsible for developing training materials, facilitating the sessions, and ensuring that the content is tailored to meet the needs of the participants. The training is expected to enhance the skills and knowledge of the attendees, contributing to their professional development and the overall objectives of the UNDP in Tanzania. The consultant will work remotely and is expected to complete the assignment within a period of 30 working days. This role requires a proactive approach to engage with participants and adapt the training content based on their feedback and learning needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review the Terms of Reference (TOR) and understand the objectives of the training sessions.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials that align with the goals of the sessions.
  • Deliver two interactive training sessions, ensuring participant engagement and knowledge transfer.
  • Assess the training needs of the participants and adapt the content accordingly.
  • Provide follow-up support and resources to participants post-training.
  • Collect feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and make necessary adjustments for future sessions.
  • Submit a final report detailing the training process, participant feedback, and recommendations for future training initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in conducting training sessions, particularly in a development context.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's mission and objectives, particularly in relation to capacity building and training.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.

Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in training and capacity building, particularly in the context of international development or public sector training. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is considered an asset and would be beneficial for engaging with participants effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position is a home-based consultancy role with a contract duration of 30 working days. The consultant will be expected to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be based on the consultant's qualifications and experience.
