Job Overview:
The Information Management Specialist (IMS) plays a crucial role in supporting the development of independent and high-quality data, information, research, and analysis related to mixed migration. The IMS is responsible for the daily management, analysis, and dissemination of data concerning the MMC Asia and the Pacific's mixed migration activities and research. This position serves as the focal point for the 4Mi data collection platform in the region and involves close collaboration with the 4Mi Project Manager. The IMS will report technically to the regional MMC Coordinator, ensuring that the data collected is of high quality, well-organized, and adheres to data protection guidelines. The role requires a proactive approach to information management and data processing, contributing to the overall mission of the MMC to enhance understanding and inform policy regarding mixed migration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IMS will be responsible for various key duties including: maintaining the 4Mi data collection platform to ensure high-quality information is safely stored, organized, and retrievable; ensuring compliance with data protection guidelines; creating and maintaining data validation tools; exporting data in appropriate formats; and validating and cleaning 4Mi data in collaboration with the regional MMC Coordinator and global colleagues. The IMS will also lead technical elements related to 4Mi monitor trainings and provide ongoing technical support. Additionally, the IMS will oversee survey design, ensuring quality and adherence to global standards, and will take the lead in developing data visualization systems and infographics to present MMC data effectively. The role includes conducting quantitative analysis, designing reports and presentations, and contributing to the dissemination of knowledge products. The IMS will also play a part in developing the MMC AP's research agenda and advocacy strategy, ensuring compliance with MMC standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in information management, database management, mapping, and web development at the national or international level. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, or a related field is required. Experience in handling and processing large datasets through electronic data collection is essential, with knowledge of ODK form design using XLS syntax and experience with ODK or Ona database being mandatory. Candidates should have a strong understanding of various data collection methodologies and proven capacity to analyze statistical information. Proficiency in programs and/or programming languages such as MS Excel, SPSS, R, or Stata for quantitative analysis is crucial. Familiarity with 4Mi is an advantage, along with a proven track record in data collection, analysis, and reporting, including the production of written and visual knowledge products based on quantitative data. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary, as well as proficiency in data management and visualization software like MS SharePoint, QGIS, ArcGIS, and MS PowerBI. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences, or Economics. This educational foundation is essential to equip the candidate with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage and analyze data related to mixed migration.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in information management, database management, mapping, and web development. This experience should ideally be at both national and international levels, demonstrating the candidate's ability to handle complex data management tasks and contribute to research and analysis in the field of mixed migration.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communication and documentation will be conducted in English. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly languages relevant to the regions where the MMC operates, but English remains the primary language of communication.
