Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive research on existing practices and strategies used by police agencies to combat illicit trafficking of cultural property.
Document and analyze good practices from different regions, focusing on their effectiveness and adaptability.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, cultural heritage organizations, and other stakeholders to gather insights and data.
Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, including recommendations for enhancing law enforcement strategies.
Present findings to relevant stakeholders, including UNESCO and member states, to promote the adoption of successful practices.
Contribute to the development of training materials and resources for law enforcement agencies on cultural heritage protection.
Stay updated on international frameworks and conventions related to cultural heritage and illicit trafficking.
