Job Overview: The Human Resources Intern position is designed to provide a valuable learning experience for newly graduated candidates. The intern will engage in various HR functions, gaining practical insights into the operations of the HR department. The role involves supporting the HR team in ensuring that personnel files are complete and confidential, assisting in the organization of recruitment processes, and participating in HR-related activities. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will assist the HR team in several key areas, including: ensuring that all personnel files are complete and accurate while maintaining confidentiality; coordinating written exams and interviews for various positions; managing insurance-related issues for staff in an organized manner; organizing orientations for new employees; ensuring that all staff in DRC Addis and field offices are registered in the government pension scheme and maintaining accurate records; participating in HR-related activities as directed; issuing staff IDs; and performing any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a high level of integrity, be proactive, and demonstrate a stable and robust character. They should be good team players with excellent communication skills and a proven commitment to accountability practices. Familiarity with computer applications, including word processing and database management, is essential.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or BA in Management, Human Resources Management, or other relevant business fields. Candidates must have graduated from a university within the last two years to be eligible for this internship.
Experience: The position requires 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. This is an entry-level internship, making it suitable for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in human resources.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all applications and communications will be conducted in English. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: The internship contract is for a duration of 12 months, and benefits and conditions are in accordance with DRC’s Terms for Apprenticeship. The position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the reporting line is to the Country Human Resources Manager.
