Job Overview:
The Contractor will play a crucial role as a member of the OSRSG-VAC team, providing efficient, timely, and high-quality support to the office and its beneficiaries. The position focuses on improving children's participation in decision-making processes and developing effective advocacy strategies with partners. The Contractor will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, supporting the organization of country visits, and preparing reports and speeches related to children's rights awareness and training programs. The role also involves applying an AGD perspective systematically in all activities, contributing to the development of advocacy materials, and supporting the global implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in relation to ending violence against children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Contractor's duties include supporting the office's collaboration with partners to create and disseminate the Market Place for Knowledge Sharing, strengthening strategic children's participation work, and collecting evidence related to children's rights. The Contractor will keep abreast of developments in research on violence against children, contribute to the development of advocacy materials, and support the global implementation and review of the Sustainable Development Goals. Additionally, the Contractor will assist in the development of SRSG reports and thematic studies, support field missions and country visits, and perform other related functions as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in International Development, Law, Political Science, International Relations, or a related discipline relevant to human rights. They should have strong analytical and research skills, with experience in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing information. Excellent writing and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to develop clear and concise documents and presentations. A solid understanding of international human rights instruments and tools for promoting and protecting children's rights is required. Proficiency in various MS Office applications and familiarity with database management and office technology is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree is required for this position, which can be in fields such as International Development, Law, Political Science, International Relations, or any other discipline relevant to human rights. This educational background is essential to ensure that the Contractor has the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the organization's mission of protecting children's rights and preventing violence against children.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least six months of relevant qualifying experience in fields related to International Development, Law, Political Science, or International Relations. This experience should ideally include work related to human rights, advocacy, or children's rights, providing the Contractor with the practical skills and insights needed to perform effectively in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in another UN language is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the organization's global outreach efforts.
