The Education Specialist position at NRC in Chad is designed for a highly dynamic, motivated, and qualified individual in the field of education. The role is crucial in establishing NRC's visibility as a leading education actor and ensuring high-quality technical advocacy. The specialist will be responsible for developing NRC's education strategy in Chad based on contextual analysis and assessments, identifying opportunities and unmet needs in the education sector. The position requires a proactive approach in developing integrated projects that include a strong education component, working closely with the education team and other components. The specialist will also contribute creatively to proposal development and reporting to donors, ensuring that the needs of children, youth, parents, and teachers in refugee and host communities are prioritized in all education programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Specialist will be responsible for several key duties, including: developing NRC's education strategy in Chad based on thorough context analysis and assessments; ensuring that the needs of children, youth, parents, and teachers in refugee and host communities are integrated into all education programming; creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), tools, and guidance documents to ensure program quality and effective monitoring mechanisms; contributing to innovative proposal development and donor reporting; overseeing the recruitment of key education personnel; designing and implementing training and capacity-building plans for NRC staff and partners; providing technical supervision for the implementation of education activities; collaborating with advocacy and communication leads to develop context-appropriate technical advocacy; liaising with local and national authorities and stakeholders, representing NRC in relevant forums and working groups; prioritizing programmatic links with other sectors and integrated programming; maintaining dialogue with local stakeholders to ensure the relevance of programming and equitable resource distribution; and working closely with other key members of the Education Cluster and donors to align education service delivery with humanitarian response plans and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience as an education expert in contexts involving displaced populations, particularly refugees. They should have documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and experience working in complex and constrained environments. A strong command of French, both written and spoken, is essential, along with a good knowledge of English. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset. Familiarity with Chad, particularly the eastern region, is advantageous. Experience in developing or expanding new programs, capacity building of teams, and advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, are required. Understanding of INEE minimum standards is necessary, and experience in alternative education programs in humanitarian contexts is a plus. Significant experience in education, psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support (PSS), or child protection is preferred.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background, typically a degree in education, social sciences, or a related field.
