Job Overview: The Data and Results Management Specialist will play a crucial role in advancing UN Women’s programming and policy support by enhancing the availability of focused gender data and contextualized programming recommendations. This position involves leading data analysis, monitoring systems, and the implementation of UN Women’s data management strategy in alignment with the Regional Strategic Note. The Specialist will work closely with regional thematic advisors and contribute to the production of gender data, empirical analysis, and the development of reports on gender and sustainable development. Additionally, the role includes maintaining a regional knowledge dashboard and establishing strategic partnerships with stakeholders to enhance the use of data science for development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of UN Women’s data, monitoring, and results management strategy.
Coordinate and maintain thematic and organizational analysis related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Support the production of gender/SADD data through primary and secondary data collection.
Conduct empirical analysis and data visualization to assist in developing reports on gender and sustainable development.
Prepare and implement the Regional Office monitoring plan and reporting.
Develop and maintain regional knowledge dashboards and ensure quality assurance.
Establish and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders and development partners related to gender data.
Provide technical advice and coordinate monitoring tools for project managers. 1
Support additional tasks related to data, research, and monitoring as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, information management, statistics, sustainable development, social sciences, education, or a related area.
A first-level university degree with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Excellent knowledge of data, monitoring, and statistical analysis.
Strong networking skills and ability to identify trends and opportunities.
Ability to perform qualitative and quantitative research and provide policy advice.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as business or public administration, information management, statistics, sustainable development, social sciences, or education. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in providing strategic support to research and data analysis, monitoring, knowledge management, or project/programme management in the context of development cooperation or related areas is required. Experience in building partnerships with governments, donors, and civil society organizations is desirable, particularly in the Arab region.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of French is desirable, which would be an asset for communication and collaboration in a multilingual environment.
