Job Overview: The Results-Based Analyst will play a crucial role in strengthening and operationalizing the project’s results framework, monitoring system, and learning processes. This position requires the analyst to ensure that the project is implemented and monitored against a robust results framework that aligns with both programme-level indicators and GFCR outcome-level indicators. The analyst will lead the design and continuous refinement of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) strategy, ensuring compliance with UNDP standards and national policies. The role involves regular engagement with implementing partners and stakeholders to identify results gaps, recommend corrective actions, and facilitate knowledge generation and sharing of best practices. The analyst will also support the planning and coordination of monitoring activities and provide technical support to national programmes and partners, ensuring effective management of the M&E process.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Results-Based Analyst include:
Implementing monitoring and evaluation policies and strategies by leading the design and refinement of the ERSI M&E strategy, ensuring alignment with programme-level outputs and GFCR indicators.
Embedding the M&E framework in all partner agreements and consultancy terms of reference.
Regularly reviewing and updating the ERSI results framework and performance indicators in collaboration with national partners and technical advisors.
Developing M&E tools and processes for diverse activities, including ecological monitoring, financial monitoring, and community-based economic activities.
Supporting the planning and coordination of monitoring activities, including joint field missions and review meetings.
Collecting, validating, and analyzing data from implementing partners to ensure coherence and timely updates of the ERSI indicator tracking system.
Monitoring progress against performance indicators and preparing analytical notes and reports for various stakeholders.
Facilitating knowledge generation and sharing by translating M&E findings into user-friendly knowledge products.
Performing other RBM/M&E-related tasks as necessary for the efficient functioning of the ERSI PMU and UNDP Country Office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as International Development, Economics, Climate Finance, Environmental Studies, Biodiversity Conservation, Social Sciences, or Monitoring & Evaluation. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience, will be considered. Applicants with a master’s degree are not required to have prior professional work experience, while those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in RBM, Monitoring & Evaluation, or project management.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as International Development, Economics, Climate Finance, Environmental Studies, Biodiversity Conservation, Social Sciences, or Monitoring & Evaluation. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in these areas, along with two additional years of qualifying experience, is also acceptable in lieu of a master’s degree.
Experience: The level of experience required for this position varies based on educational qualifications. Candidates with a master’s degree are not required to have prior professional work experience, while those with a bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of relevant professional experience in RBM, Monitoring & Evaluation, or project management. Desired experience includes designing and operationalizing M&E systems for multi-component projects, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and field-based monitoring coordination.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
