Job Overview: The Intern - Supply Chain role is designed to support the Supply Chain department within DRC, specifically focusing on compliance with organizational procedures and guidelines. The intern will assist in the daily operations of the Supply Chain unit, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurately maintained both in digital and physical formats. This position requires close collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and involves tracking assigned activities, collecting quotations from vendors, and preparing procurement documents for review. The intern will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date tracking tool for orders and submitting monthly asset reports, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Chain operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Supply Chain unit in daily operations, ensuring compliance with DRC procedures.
Maintain necessary documentation in both soft and hard copies.
Support the procurement officer in collecting quotations from various vendors and preparing them for committee review.
Aid in data collection for market surveys and framework agreement establishments.
Receive, prepare, and submit all invoices and procurement documents to the Supply Chain Officer for review, ensuring compliance with DRC regulations.
Maintain an up-to-date tracking tool for all orders shipped to the field.
Prepare and submit accurate monthly asset reports by the 2nd of each month.
Provide timely feedback and updates to requesters on their requests within 48 hours.
Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in a university for a relevant education, with at least two years of higher education completed, or a recent graduate (within the last two years).
Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
Proficient in general computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to manage tasks effectively and work collaboratively with others.
Educational Background: A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant business fields is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding supply chain processes and management principles.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of higher education completed or should have graduated from university within the last two years. This experience is essential to ensure that the intern can effectively contribute to the Supply Chain unit's operations and understand the complexities involved in procurement and supply chain management.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all applications and communications must be conducted in English. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: The internship contract is for a duration of 6 months, with benefits and conditions offered in accordance with DRC’s Terms for Apprenticeship. The position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the expected availability for the role is in April 202
