Job Overview:
The MHPSs Program Manager will oversee the implementation and management of mental health and psychosocial support programs in Gaza. This role involves coordinating with local stakeholders, ensuring the quality of services provided, and developing strategies to enhance program effectiveness. The manager will be responsible for assessing community needs, designing interventions, and monitoring program outcomes. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with international partners and adherence to best practices in mental health care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health services and a passion for improving the lives of individuals in crisis situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mental health and psychosocial support programs in Gaza.
  • Coordinate with local health authorities, NGOs, and community organizations to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in mental health services and develop appropriate interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements.
  • Provide training and support to staff and volunteers involved in program delivery.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for stakeholders, including funding agencies and government entities.
  • Advocate for mental health issues at local and national levels, promoting awareness and understanding of mental health needs.
  • Manage program budgets and resources efficiently, ensuring sustainability and impact.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in psychology, social work, public health, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing mental health programs, preferably in humanitarian settings.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues in conflict-affected areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in project management and monitoring and evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with local mental health policies and frameworks.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, or public health. Additional certifications in mental health or psychosocial support are highly desirable. Continuous professional development in mental health practices is encouraged to stay updated with the latest methodologies and interventions.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in mental health program management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Experience working in the Palestinian Territory or similar contexts is an advantage. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of successful program implementation and the ability to navigate complex environments.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, with strong English language skills preferred. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region is a plus, as it may enhance communication with diverse populations.
