Job Overview:
The consultant will be responsible for developing the Education in Emergencies Strategy for the Arab Region for the period 2025-203

• This role is crucial in addressing the educational needs of populations affected by crises, including refugees and internally displaced persons. The consultant will conduct assessments to identify educational needs, review relevant policy documents, and analyze data to inform the strategy. The overarching goal is to ensure that education systems in the Arab region are resilient and capable of providing continuous, inclusive, and quality education during emergencies. Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in education, public policy, public administration, international development, or related fields. They should have a minimum of seven years of experience in education, knowledge-policy nexus, evidence-based policy making, or related areas. Proven experience in educational research, policy reviews, sector analysis, and stakeholder consultations is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent analytical skills, the ability to draft high-quality reports, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in relevant fields such as education, public policy, or international development is required. A PhD would be considered an asset, indicating a higher level of expertise in the field.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of professional experience in education, particularly in areas related to education in emergencies. Experience working with ministries of education and development partners in the Arab region is highly desirable. Proven experience in evidence-based educational research, policy development, and stakeholder analysis is crucial for this role.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.
