Job Overview: The Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Analyst plays a crucial role in developing and executing strategies for resource mobilization, which includes identifying funding opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and securing financial support from both traditional donors and private sector entities. This position requires a strategic mindset to analyze funding trends and private sector priorities, ensuring that resource mobilization efforts align with UN Women’s organizational goals. The analyst will also be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats in donor relationships and resource mobilization efforts, developing risk management strategies to mitigate these risks. Additionally, the role involves establishing effective communication channels with donors and private sector partners, ensuring that they are regularly updated on organizational activities and impact. The analyst will also develop strategic donor engagement plans to deepen relationships and maximize philanthropic support, while creating a comprehensive strategy for private sector engagement to foster partnerships that align with UN Women’s mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute resource mobilization strategies, identifying funding opportunities and cultivating relationships with donors and private sector entities.
Analyze funding trends and private sector priorities to tailor resource mobilization efforts.
Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in donor relationships and resource mobilization efforts, developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
Establish and maintain effective communication with donors and private sector partners, providing updates on organizational activities and impact.
Develop strategic donor engagement plans to enhance donor loyalty and maximize support.
Create a comprehensive strategy for engaging with private sector entities, identifying opportunities for collaboration in programmatic initiatives and advocacy campaigns.
Monitor and evaluate resource mobilization activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Foster relationships with key stakeholders in the private sector to expand partnership opportunities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of resource mobilization, strategy development, and donor engagement. They should have proven analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities in fundraising, as well as experience in risk assessment and donor communications. A good knowledge of Results Based Management is essential, along with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively. Strong interpersonal skills are required to cultivate relationships with donors and stakeholders, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UN Women’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification would be considered an added advantage.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in resource mobilization, strategy development, proposal writing, and donor reporting. Experience in coordinating with government agencies and donors is desirable, as is familiarity with office software packages and web-based management systems. Experience with a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is also desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable.
