Job Overview:
The Procurement Associate position at UN Women involves ensuring the execution of transparent and efficient procurement services and processes in line with UN Women rules and regulations. The role requires a client-focused, quality, and results-oriented approach to support compliance with organizational policies, effective systems for program delivery, and accountability to organizational values. The Procurement Associate will work under the guidance of the Chief of Procurement and Travel Services and the Operations Manager, with additional oversight from the Regional Procurement Analyst/Specialist. This position is crucial for managing procurement processes for the Country Office, collaborating with various stakeholders, and contributing to the development of procurement strategies that align with UN Women’s mission and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement Associate will implement procurement strategies in accordance with UN Women rules and regulations, prepare procurement-related reports, and coordinate the implementation of corporate procurement management policies. Responsibilities include finalizing procurement plans, reviewing procurement requests, organizing procurement processes, and managing contracts for the Country Office. The role also involves facilitating knowledge building and sharing through the development of training materials and organizing training sessions on procurement. The incumbent will perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and the organization, ensuring that procurement processes are efficient and compliant with UN Women standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong knowledge of procurement processes and systems, with the ability to provide procurement-related support and advice. Proficiency in using spreadsheets and database packages is essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. The role requires the ability to extract and interpret data, administer administrative processes, and handle confidential information. Strong IT and web-based management skills are also necessary for this position.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required for this position. Specialized training in Procurement or a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or a related field is considered an asset. Additionally, a Procurement Certification from an internationally recognized provider such as CIPS (level 3) is advantageous. Candidates must also be willing to undertake UN Women internal procurement certifications as part of their professional development.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, administration, or a related field at the national or international level. Candidates should have experience using computers and office software packages, particularly MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable, as it will enhance the efficiency of procurement processes.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and will be considered an asset in the recruitment process.
