Job Overview:
The Investigator position is situated within the Division of Internal Oversight Services (IOS) at UNESCO, which serves as an independent oversight mechanism encompassing internal audit, evaluation, investigation, and management support. The primary function of the Investigator is to lead and supervise the investigation function, addressing serious and complex allegations of misconduct within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Investigator will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading and directing investigative activities, developing investigation plans, deciding on methodologies, conducting complex investigations, assessing risks associated with investigative activities, and ensuring that due process is respected. The incumbent will also supervise the screening of allegations of misconduct, determine the appropriate next steps for resolution, and maintain accurate records of all allegations. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in fields such as Investigations, Law, Management, Auditing, or Risk Management. Additionally, professional certification from a recognized compliance or investigation body, such as CFE or CCEP-I, is required. Educational Background:
