Job Overview:
The Training Specialist position is a vital role within the UNVMC's Training Unit, aimed at enhancing the competencies and technical skills of staff members through various training modalities. The specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Training Unit, contributing to the design, development, delivery, and coordination of training events, seminars, and workshops. These training initiatives will cover a wide range of topics, including leadership, management, communication skills, safety and security, and other substantive modules. The role requires collaboration with various divisions to ensure that training needs are met and that all training activities are effectively monitored and reported. The Training Specialist will also be responsible for managing training databases, preparing training calendars, and ensuring that all training-related documentation is accurately maintained. This position is essential for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the mission, ultimately contributing to the overall effectiveness of the UNVMC's operations in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Training Specialist will undertake a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: assisting in the design and development of training programs; coordinating the implementation of external training and following up with participants on post-training requirements; collaborating with the Substantive Division to incorporate their training needs into the Training Unit's plans; organizing and implementing budgeted Capacity Building Programs; monitoring e-learning programs and preparing a monthly training calendar; managing the Training Unit's databases for all training activities; convening coordination meetings for onboarding activities; managing and reporting on the mandatory Integrated Mission Induction Training for newcomers; updating information on the Training Unit's webpage; and performing other tasks as directed by the supervisor. The role requires a proactive approach to training needs assessment and a commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of mission personnel.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Training Specialist position must possess a strong set of qualifications, including proven experience in training design and delivery, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
