Job Overview:
The Staff Assistant position is crucial for the smooth operation of the Regional Commissions New York Office (RCNYO). The incumbent will provide comprehensive office management and administrative support to the Director and staff, ensuring efficient communication and workflow within the office. This role involves preparing and processing confidential information, assisting in the development of administrative systems, and coordinating activities and appointments for the Director. The Staff Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining files and databases, responding to inquiries, and assisting in the preparation of presentation materials. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Staff Assistant will perform a variety of duties including: managing office functions and administrative support for the Director and staff; liaising with the Executive Office and senior officials; ensuring efficient information flow; preparing background materials for reports and meetings; coordinating activities and scheduling appointments; orienting new staff; providing logistical support for visits to UNHQ; drafting responses to correspondence; updating the RCNYO website; assisting in the preparation of presentation materials; and performing various administrative duties such as leave recording and meeting organization. The role may also involve providing specialized support to the unit as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five years of experience in general office support or a related area is required, with a reduction to three years for candidates holding a first-level university degree or higher. Familiarity with integrated information management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, and Acrobat are desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for this position. Candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, indicating that higher education is valued and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in general office support or a related field. This requirement is reduced to three years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Languages:
