Job Overview:
The Program Officer position at CHAI Uganda is focused on improving access to diabetes and hypertension services. The role involves providing technical and operational support for specific projects, overseeing execution, and ensuring high-quality delivery of program objectives. The Program Officer will report to the Senior Associate NCDs and is expected to be a self-starter who is knowledgeable, resourceful, and agile in a fast-paced environment. The Program Officer will also be responsible for program planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, as well as managing relationships with stakeholders and supporting financial management of program activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Program Officer include supporting internal project planning and implementation for diabetes and hypertension, leading the compilation of a program events calendar, coordinating with partners, documenting key learnings, and managing relationships with stakeholders. The Program Officer will also support budget planning and tracking, assist in identifying program risks, extract and analyze data for national programming, and develop innovative approaches and tools for program improvement. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business, public health, or a related field. They should have at least 2-3 years of experience in a demanding, results-driven environment. High emotional intelligence, strong process management skills, and excellent analytical abilities are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required, along with a flexible, entrepreneurial mindset and strong self-motivation. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as exceptional time management abilities to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business, public health, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of health systems and program management in the context of non-communicable diseases.

Experience:
