The internship is structured to last a minimum of two months, with the possibility of extension up to six months, depending on the needs of the division. Interns will work under the supervision of experienced staff members and will be expected to contribute actively to ongoing projects and initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the intern include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the management of the regional CRVS initiative, including assisting with programme monitoring and evaluation.
Conducting literature reviews on theoretical frameworks, indicators, and country practices related to CRVS.
Contributing to the drafting of research papers and technical documents that inform policy and practice in the region.
Participating in the substantive servicing of regional steering group meetings, expert group meetings, seminars, and training workshops.
Supporting capacity-building activities aimed at enhancing the statistical capabilities of countries within the region.
Assisting with communication activities related to the regional initiative, including the development of the website www.getinthepicture.org and the CRVS Insight newsletter.
Performing other tasks as required by the division to support its objectives and initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for the UN Internship Programme, candidates should have a field of study that is closely related to the internship they are applying for, such as statistics, social sciences, public policy, or a related discipline.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either being currently enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme or being in the final year of a bachelor's degree programme.
