Job Overview:
The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Research Intern will play a vital role in supporting the FDI team within the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division. The intern's primary responsibilities will include conducting economic research and writing for the annual FDI trends publication, which is crucial for understanding investment patterns in the Asia-Pacific region. The intern will also engage with various stakeholders, including government ministries and private sector organizations, to facilitate meetings and events that promote FDI. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about economic research and international trade, and who wish to gain practical experience in a global organization. The intern will be expected to work full-time from January 1 to June 30, 2025, contributing to significant projects that impact sustainable development and investment strategies in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including: conducting research on FDI trends in the Asia-Pacific region and globally using various databases; assisting in the preparation of economic reports, concept notes, and briefing documents; supporting research projects focused on FDI flows, sectoral transitions of investment flows, and country policies; developing investment project case studies and analyzing their impact on sustainable development; liaising with government ministries, private sector organizations, and international stakeholders to coordinate meetings and events; scheduling meetings with relevant stakeholders across countries and sectors; and assisting in the development of promotional materials for events. The intern will also be expected to demonstrate strong research and analytical skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills throughout their internship.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one or more of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in fields such as computer science, web development, economics, finance, innovation, international relations related to science and technology, or any other related area; or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). Candidates should possess a good understanding of foreign direct investment, experience in web-based research, excellent written communication skills, and networking abilities. Proficiency in standard software applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite, is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes either being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program in fields related to economics, finance, international relations, or similar disciplines. Alternatively, candidates may qualify if they are in the final year of their undergraduate studies, provided they have a minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent. A strong academic foundation in economic research and international trade is essential for this role, as it will enable the intern to effectively contribute to the team's objectives.

Experience:
