Job Overview:
The Program Head for Fundraising in Landscape Restoration will play a pivotal role in advancing WRI India's mission by unlocking diverse forms of capital to support restoration initiatives. This position is crucial as restoration efforts are gaining traction in India, providing multiple benefits such as food and water security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, biodiversity enhancement, and climate change mitigation. The Program Head will be responsible for spearheading fundraising efforts from various sources, including CSR, philanthropy, and private finance, ensuring that restoration business models are adequately funded. The role involves developing finance strategies, building partnerships, and engaging with donors to create a sustainable funding landscape for restoration projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of finance strategies and partnerships for the Food, Land and Water program, focusing on fundraising proposals that include presentations, narratives, and budgets.
  • Build funding products that align innovative solutions with donor expectations, targeting foundations, corporations, governments, and individual donors.
  • Engage with donors to enhance relationships and prepare materials that support donor engagement.
  • Monitor the finance landscape to identify strategic opportunities for blending finance mechanisms.
  • Explore knowledge gaps in restoration finance and influence research agendas based on market feedback.
  • Build partnerships and coalitions by mapping potential partners and engaging stakeholders in program projects.
  • Represent WRI India at various events and initiatives to promote the FLW program and its solutions.
  • Enable strategic communication on restoration efforts internally and externally.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in fundraising and building strategic partnerships within the natural resource management and restoration sectors.
  • Proven experience in securing 7-9 figure grants and working with diverse donors and private investors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in designing and delivering market-oriented solutions and financial instruments.
  • Familiarity with corporate business practices and financial systems related to land use and restoration.
  • Strong understanding of finance, sustainability investments, ESG, and landscape restoration in India.
  • Proficiency in developing financial models for investment analysis and valuations.
  • Excellent communication, partner management, and donor engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, which provides a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of fundraising and financial management in the context of environmental restoration.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, particularly in fundraising and partnership development within the natural resource management and restoration sectors. Experience with securing large grants and working with various types of donors is essential, as is a background in leading teams to design and implement market-oriented solutions.

Languages:
Professional fluency in English is mandatory, while fluency in an additional Indian language, such as Hindi, is considered an advantage. This linguistic capability will facilitate effective communication with diverse stakeholders and enhance donor engagement.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in New Delhi, India, with a contract duration of 2 years, which may be extended based on performance and project requirements. The salary range for this role is between 35,00,000 to 46,50,000 CTC per annum, commensurate with experience and skills.
