Job Overview:
The Manager, Donor Communications at WWF will play a crucial role in leading the production of high-quality donor communications assets. This position is essential for educating and inspiring donors while presenting a compelling case for support of WWF’s mission. The individual will work closely with relationship managers from individual giving and foundations relations teams to develop strategic messaging that aligns with WWF’s integrated conservation programs. The role involves managing a diverse portfolio of writing assignments that cover global conservation content, including solicitation materials and stewardship assets. The Manager will also oversee one direct report and refine production processes to ensure efficient delivery of donor assets to fundraising teams. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-person work at headquarters a minimum of two days a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager, Donor Communications will contribute to donor product development and strategies, managing a philanthropy writer and collaborating with various teams to create high-caliber messaging and assets. Responsibilities include representing the Donor Communications & Stewardship team in discussions about conservation strategies, improving donor communications systems, and collaborating with colleagues to develop compelling funding proposals and reports. The Manager will support the production of donor assets for major institutional fundraising priorities and become a content expert on WWF-US integrated programs. Additionally, the role involves contributing thought leadership and staying informed about trends in philanthropy, as well as performing other duties as required by organizational needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of professional writing experience, with at least 5 years specifically in philanthropy writing for high-net-worth individuals. Previous management experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should excel in people management and project management, demonstrating the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. A proven track record of developing and managing systems to improve outcomes is essential, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear language are also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, with a focus on communications, writing, or a related field being advantageous. Advanced degrees may be considered a plus but are not mandatory.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of professional work experience, with a strong emphasis on philanthropy writing for high-net-worth individuals. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in communication strategy and project management, demonstrating a solid understanding of donor communications and fundraising processes.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional language skills being a plus but not required. The ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences is essential.

This position is full-time and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring in-person work at the Washington, DC headquarters at least two days a week. The expected salary range for this role is between $108,900 and $156,50
