Job Overview: The intern will work under the supervision of the head of the Institutional Cooperation Service within a team that includes the service head, two institutional cooperation officers, and another assistant. The intern will actively contribute to the search for funding and the understanding of institutional donors and their procedures. The role may require collaboration with other departments within SI, such as programs, program quality, and communication. The intern will be responsible for monitoring funding opportunities and the latest news from institutional donors through a weekly newsletter, which includes researching and selecting funding opportunities, summarizing them, and disseminating the information. Additionally, the intern will assist in drafting and distributing summaries of calls for projects, funding opportunities, and reports from institutional donors, thereby enhancing internal knowledge about these donors and their funding mechanisms.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's main tasks will include:
Monitoring funding opportunities and institutional donor news through a weekly newsletter, which involves researching and selecting funding opportunities, summarizing them, and disseminating the information.
Following up on funding opportunities using the new internal activity management software.
Drafting and distributing summaries of calls for projects, funding opportunities, and reports from institutional donors.
Supporting the head and officers in researching and drafting synthetic documents about various institutional donors to enhance internal knowledge about these donors, their funding mechanisms, and procedures.
Assisting the service in updating and archiving information and documents related to funding donors, particularly in transferring information to the new activity management software, including contact lists, meeting minutes with donors, summaries of calls for projects, and documents on donor operations.
Supporting the head and officers in prospecting new institutional donors.
Participating in internal and/or external service meetings and drafting minutes.
Translating working documents from English to French and vice versa using available software and tools.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a higher education degree (bac +4/5) in political science, human and social sciences, law, international relations, or any other relevant field. They must have excellent writing, summarizing, and formatting skills in both French and English. A critical and analytical mindset, autonomy, and rigor are essential. A strong interest in the causes defended by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL and an understanding of the functioning of institutional donors and the financing of humanitarian aid and international cooperation are also required. Candidates should have professional proficiency in French and English, as well as proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools and a willingness to learn information management software.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a higher education degree (bac +4/5) in relevant fields such as political science, human and social sciences, law, international relations, or similar disciplines. This level of education is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to perform effectively in the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have some level of experience, preferably in a related field such as humanitarian aid, institutional cooperation, or project management. Additional Notes: The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship is subject to a mandatory internship agreement. The compensation for the internship is set at 4.90 euros per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked each month (approximately 154 hours per month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each). Public transport costs will be reimbursed at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. Additionally, interns will receive meal vouchers worth 8.90 euros per day worked, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL contributing 60% of the cost.
