Job Overview:
The Associate Reporting Analyst position is situated within the Joint Operations Center (JOC) of UNMISS in Juba, which is classified as a non-family duty station with 'E' hardship status. The role involves providing comprehensive situational analysis to mission leadership, ensuring a continuous overview of operational activities, and preparing consolidated reports that include daily integrated situation reports and special incident reports. The Associate Reporting Analyst is expected to engage in qualitative and quantitative analysis, monitor significant developments in the mission area, and collaborate with various mission components to maintain situational awareness. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the mission's objectives by delivering timely and accurate reporting on political, humanitarian, and security developments in South Sudan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Reporting Analyst include:
  • Monitoring and Reporting: - Maintain a high degree of situational awareness regarding events and developments in the mission area. - Monitor major developments across various sectors, including political, governance, humanitarian, human rights, military, security, and economic aspects. - Prepare integrated reports on significant developments for dissemination within the mission and to UN headquarters. - Gather information from various mission sections and draft special reports and briefings as required.
  • Data Analytics and Visualization: - Develop process improvement mechanisms for data analytics and reporting tasks. - Acquire and clean data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases. - Implement data collection systems and analytics strategies to optimize efficiency and quality. - Identify and analyze trends or patterns in data to inform decision-making. - Develop reports and dashboards to summarize findings and convey information effectively. - Support the use and development of the Situational Awareness Geospatial Enterprise (SAGE) in the JOC.

Required Qualifications:
