Job Overview: The Programme Management Trainee position is designed to support the Project Manager in managing various projects under the UNOPS portfolio. The role involves assisting in project preparation, implementation, and monitoring, with a focus on enhancing project management capacity. The trainee will engage in research, analysis, and coordination of project activities, ensuring compliance with project management standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development and project management within a dynamic and multicultural environment, contributing to significant projects aimed at addressing climate change, humanitarian action, and sustainable development goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Management Trainee include: conducting research and analysis on projects and partners; supporting the Project Team with monitoring and updating project and procurement plans; assisting in project implementation by preparing management documents and communication materials; providing oversight and analysis of financial and procurement data; preparing narrative and financial reports; facilitating communication with stakeholders; coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions; performing administrative duties such as taking meeting minutes; and preparing briefing materials for meetings. The trainee may also be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in relevant fields such as International Affairs, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Project Management. Enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program or recent graduation within three years is required. Prior project management certification is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong computer literacy, particularly in Google standard programs and tools like Canva, and have the ability to work in an international/multicultural environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields. Candidates must also be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a Master's or Ph.D. program. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of international development and project management.
Experience: Some professional experience in fields related to International Development, Project Management, Administration, or Human Resources is desirable. This experience can be gained through internships, volunteer work, or previous employment, and should demonstrate the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to project management tasks and responsibilities.
Languages: Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is required for this position. Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the local context and with stakeholders in Indonesia.
Additional Notes: The contract type for this position is an internship, with a duration of 6 months and the possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability.
