Job Overview: The position of Coordinatrice Nationale ou Coordinateur National for the PASCO Pastoralisme project involves overseeing the implementation of strategies aimed at improving pastoralism in Chad. The role requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by pastoral communities and the ability to develop effective solutions. The coordinator will work closely with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to ensure the successful execution of project activities. Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of the PASCO Pastoralisme project in accordance with established objectives and timelines.
Coordinate with local communities, government bodies, and NGOs to facilitate project activities.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure project support and sustainability.
Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for management and donors.
Conduct training and capacity-building sessions for local partners and community members.
Identify challenges and propose solutions to enhance project effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Manage project budgets and resources effectively.
Represent the organization at meetings, workshops, and conferences related to pastoralism.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in the field of pastoralism or rural development.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of the socio-economic context of pastoral communities in Chad is an asset.
Educational Background: A degree in social sciences, development studies, agriculture, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be advantageous for candidates applying for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management, with a focus on pastoralism or rural development. Experience working in Chad or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Chad. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, and knowledge of local languages would be beneficial for engaging with communities.
