Job Overview: This position involves providing expert legal consultancy to design and implement a specialized training process addressing the crime of using children and adolescents for criminal activities, as well as the juvenile justice system. The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive training program that is tailored to the needs of the target audience, ensuring that the content is relevant, engaging, and effective. The role requires a deep understanding of legal frameworks related to juvenile justice and child protection, as well as the ability to convey complex legal concepts in an accessible manner. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided. The assignment is expected to last for two months, during which the consultant will be expected to deliver high-quality outputs that meet the objectives of the training initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct a needs assessment to identify the specific training requirements of the target audience.
Develop a detailed training curriculum that covers the legal aspects of child protection and juvenile justice.
Create training materials, including presentations, handouts, and interactive exercises.
Facilitate training sessions, ensuring active participation and engagement from attendees.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the training program through feedback and assessments.
Provide recommendations for future training initiatives based on evaluation results.
Collaborate with UNDP and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Prepare and submit a final report detailing the training process, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
A professional law degree (Título Profesional en Derecho) with a valid professional license.
Extensive knowledge of legal frameworks related to child protection and juvenile justice.
Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, particularly in legal or educational contexts.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations in the field of child rights and protection is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and adapt to varying cultural contexts.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a professional law degree (Título Profesional en Derecho) and hold a valid professional license to practice law. Additional certifications or training in child protection, juvenile justice, or related fields will be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in legal consultancy, training, or education, particularly in areas related to child protection and juvenile justice. Experience working with international organizations or in a consultancy capacity is preferred.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the training will be conducted in Spanish. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to additional resources.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to last for a period of two months. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the consultant will be expected to work on a full-time basis during the assignment period. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and the consultant will be responsible for their own taxes and benefits. The position is open to both national and international candidates.
