Job Overview: The position involves recruiting a consultant responsible for the development and maintenance of the website for the secretariat of the EMRC (European Mediterranean Regional Cooperation). The consultant will be expected to work for a total of 37 days, starting from the date of contract signing. The estimated effort required for this mission is approximately 20 hours per day. The consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring that the website is functional, user-friendly, and meets the needs of its users. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Developing the website according to the specifications provided by the secretariat.
Ensuring that the website is responsive and accessible across different devices and platforms.
Implementing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security measures to protect the website from potential threats.
Conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure the website is functioning correctly.
Updating content on the website as needed, including text, images, and multimedia elements.
Providing training to secretariat staff on how to manage and update the website independently.
Responding to any technical issues that arise and providing solutions in a timely manner.
Collaborating with the secretariat to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve user experience.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in web development, including proficiency in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of web design principles and user experience best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Familiarity with SEO practices and web analytics tools will be considered an asset. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with the secretariat and understand their needs.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, web development, or a related field is required.
