Job Overview: The Grants Coordinator position is designed to provide essential grant management support to the Grants Manager, ensuring the delivery of quality programs in alignment with the NRC Country Office (CO) strategy and Plan of Action. The role involves maintaining an overview of all grants, understanding donor requirements, and adhering to internal and external deadlines. The Grants Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating the development of donor applications and reports, ensuring compliance with donor regulations, and contributing to the development and revision of funding proposals and budgets. This position requires a proactive approach to staying updated on donor priorities and trends, particularly in relation to cash-based interventions, and tracking relevant calls for proposals. The Grants Coordinator will also be responsible for establishing standardized information management systems for all grant documents, ensuring that all processes align with NRC policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures while considering NRC global and regional strategies in executing functions related to the role.
Develop and maintain an overview of all grants, including donor requirements, rules, regulations, and deadlines.
Ensure standardized information management and filing systems for all grants documents, including the forthcoming grants database.
Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, ensuring compliance and quality control.
Contribute to the development and revision of funding proposals, budgets, and donor reports.
Stay updated on donor priorities and trends, particularly regarding cash-based interventions, and track relevant calls for proposals.
Collaborate with the Grants Manager to ensure effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide support in the preparation of grant-related documentation and reports.
Assist in training and capacity building of staff on grant management processes and compliance. 1
Participate in meetings and workshops related to grant management and donor engagement.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in grant and/or partner management within the humanitarian sector.
Proven experience working with humanitarian and development donors.
Strong understanding of donor rules and regulations.
Skills and experience in project cycle management, report writing, and proposal development.
Excellent analytical skills, particularly in data and analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis.
Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mediate in high-stress scenarios with competing interests.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in data management and reporting tools.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in a field such as international relations, development studies, social sciences, or a related discipline is preferred. Additional certifications in project management or grant management would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in grant management or partner management, particularly within the humanitarian sector. Experience working with various humanitarian and development donors is essential, along with a solid understanding of donor regulations and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project cycle management and report writing.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region or the organization's operations would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Yangon, Myanmar, with a travel requirement of approximately 20%. The contract duration is for 12 months, fixed term.
