Job Overview:
The Coordination Expert position is integral to the UNDP's project aimed at enhancing the crisis management and recovery systems in Ukraine. This role involves working closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to implement interlinked projects that support the digital transformation agenda. The expert will analyze existing systems, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the effective delivery of project objectives. The position requires a proactive approach to establish communication channels among diplomatic participants and to mentor the project team, ensuring knowledge sustainability and capacity building. The expert will also be responsible for creating comprehensive online reports that meet international standards, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability in the project’s execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Coordination Expert include:
  • Conducting a thorough analysis of existing systems and their performance in relation to digital transformation, project management, software development, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security legislation.
  • Collaborating with high-level stakeholders and partners to streamline project objectives and deliverables effectively.
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with all participants in the diplomatic process to enhance existing systems and introduce new ones.
  • Directing the creation and dissemination of comprehensive online reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to international standards.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to the project team to foster capacity-building and ensure knowledge sustainability.
  • Developing a detailed plan with fixed deadlines for the administration, modernization, and operational setup of systems.
  • Engaging end users across all countries to create supportive conditions for action, including chat-bot support and communication spaces within diasporas.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and UNDP Ukraine Leadership.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Coordination Expert position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess existing systems and propose improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with high-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear and comprehensive reports that meet international standards.
  • Experience in capacity-building and mentoring project teams.
  • Familiarity with legislation related to digital transformation and information security.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations, public administration, information technology, or a related discipline. A master’s degree would be an advantage, particularly in areas related to project management or digital transformation.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, with a focus on digital transformation and crisis management. Experience working with governmental or international organizations is highly desirable, as is a proven track record of successful project implementation.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is highly desirable. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the diplomatic community in Ukraine.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time contract position with a duration indicated in the vacancy announcement, subject to the availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The contract may be extended, but there is no expectation of renewal. The position includes a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 2076 per month, a one-time entry lump sum of USD 400, and comprehensive medical and life insurance coverage. UN Volunteers accrue annual leave at a rate of 2.5 days per completed month, with provisions for learning leave and sick leave as outlined in the contract.
