Job Overview:
The Finance Associate position at UNDP Indonesia is crucial for ensuring effective execution of financial services and processes within the Country Office. This role involves maintaining financial records, supporting budget administration, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures. The Finance Associate will work closely with various teams, including Operations and Programme staff, to facilitate financial management and reporting. The position requires a collaborative approach, as the Finance Associate will also supervise clerical staff and engage with project teams to support resource mobilization efforts. The role is designed to promote a client-oriented approach and enhance the financial performance of the Country Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Support the administration and implementation of operational strategies, ensuring compliance with UNDP financial processes and internal controls. This includes maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and monitoring financial exception reports for unusual activities. 2) Assist in budget administration for CO management projects, including preparing and modifying budgets, ensuring timely budget revisions, and maintaining detailed records of funds. 3) Provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance unit, including managing supporting documents for payments, preparing financial reports, and maintaining the internal expenditures control system. 4) Ensure proper cash and treasury management, including reviewing cash positions, preparing bank reconciliations, and initiating bank transfers. 5) Facilitate knowledge building and sharing within the CO by organizing training sessions and contributing to knowledge networks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education with specialized certification in accounting and/or finance. A university degree in finance or accounting is desirable, and part-qualified accountants from internationally accredited institutes will have an advantage. Fully qualified accountants or those who have completed the UNDP Finance Training and Certification Programme (FTCP) are preferred. Candidates without professional qualifications must complete the FTCP if recruited. Experience in finance and accounting is essential, with a minimum of 6 years required for those with a high school diploma or 3 years for those with a bachelor's degree.

Educational Background:
The position requires secondary education with specialized certification in accounting and/or finance. A university degree in finance or accounting is preferred. Candidates with professional accountancy qualifications from internationally accredited institutes will have a distinct advantage. Those without such qualifications must complete the UNDP Finance Training and Certification Programme if recruited.

Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience at the national or international level is required for candidates with a high school diploma. For those with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary. Experience in the use of computers and office software, particularly advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and ERP financial systems, is essential. Knowledge of IPSAS and/or IFRS is required, and experience with budget administration and cash management is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and fluency in Bahasa is required for local staff. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English and Bahasa are the primary languages for this position.

Additional Notes:
The position is full-time, and the initial appointment is for 12 months, contingent upon successful completion of a probationary period.
