The position involves recruiting an international expert in sustainable mobility specifically in the waste collection sector. The project, titled 'Integrated Waste Management and Energy Production at the Local Level in Algeria' (AIMWELL), aims to enhance waste management practices while promoting energy production from waste. The contract duration is four months, with the mission expected to take 16 working days, starting in March 202

Duties and Responsibilities:
The expert will be tasked with several key responsibilities including:
  • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of the current waste collection practices in the targeted localities.
  • Collaborating with local authorities to understand their specific needs and challenges regarding waste management.
  • Developing detailed technical specifications for electric waste collection trucks that align with the project’s environmental goals.
  • Ensuring that the specifications meet international standards and best practices in sustainable mobility.
  • Preparing a report summarizing the findings and recommendations based on the assessment and consultations.
  • Participating in meetings with stakeholders to present the specifications and gather feedback.
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the procurement process for the trucks.
  • Engaging in capacity-building activities to enhance local stakeholders' understanding of sustainable waste management practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in sustainable mobility, waste management, or a related field. They should have proven experience in developing technical specifications for vehicles, particularly in the context of waste collection. Additionally, familiarity with electric vehicle technology and its application in waste management is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. A strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement is also required.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. Advanced qualifications or certifications in sustainable mobility or waste management will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles of sustainable development and the technical aspects of waste collection systems.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainable mobility, waste management, or a related field. Languages:
