Job Overview:
The consultant will work under the supervision of the Programme Officer to produce content for the One Million Opportunities (1MiO) initiative, which aims to provide skills development, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities for vulnerable youth in Brazil. The consultant is expected to create a variety of digital and printed materials that communicate job and training opportunities, as well as success stories from beneficiaries of the initiative. The role requires creativity, strong design skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality content that aligns with UNICEF's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce weekly designs for 1MiO digital channels, including job postings and skills development opportunities for youth.
  • Create monthly life stories highlighting the experiences of youth who have benefited from the 1MiO initiative.
  • Develop annual visual identities, guides, studies, pamphlets, and other communication materials for various projects and events related to 1MiO.
  • Design a section within the 1MiO digital platform that provides data and analysis on youth employability in Brazil.
  • Create communication materials to promote training and job opportunities in UNICEF's priority areas.
  • Collaborate with the UNICEF team to ensure all materials meet quality standards and adhere to deadlines.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress and receive feedback on deliverables.
  • Revise and alter designs as needed based on feedback from UNICEF supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Arts, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in design at national or international levels.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience in producing digital content and familiarity with youth and community-based movements is desirable.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Figma, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of children's rights issues and experience in the UN system is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree in Design, Arts, or related fields. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary skills and knowledge to produce high-quality design work that meets the standards of UNICEF and effectively communicates the goals of the 1MiO initiative.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in design, with a focus on creating content for both online and offline platforms. Experience in working with youth and community initiatives, as well as familiarity with the UN system, will be considered advantageous. The consultant should also have a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and producing high-quality work under pressure.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, along with basic proficiency in English. Knowledge of Spanish is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders and partners involved in the initiative.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy contract will last for 365 days, with specific deliverables and deadlines outlined for each report. The consultant will be expected to submit a financial proposal that includes all costs associated with the assignment.
