Job Overview: The National Supply Chain Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating the supply chain operations of FAO in Ukraine. This position is essential for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services necessary for FAO's humanitarian and agricultural projects. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including project officers and technical officers, to provide procurement support throughout all phases of the project cycle. The role requires a proactive approach to logistics management, including the establishment of long-term agreements with service providers, monitoring supply dashboards, and developing internal procedures to enhance logistical processes. The specialist will also be responsible for fostering partnerships with UN agencies and NGOs to ensure coordinated and cost-effective operations, thereby contributing to the overall mission of FAO in Ukraine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the management of service providers and suppliers, ensuring safe and efficient execution of FAO’s operations, including customs clearance, storage, and transport agreements.
Monitor supply dashboards to identify and mitigate logistical bottlenecks, driving improvements in the logistics system.
Lead the development and maintenance of internal procedures and workflows related to logistics.
Establish a schedule for periodic physical inventory of warehouse stock.
Provide procurement support to project and technical officers throughout the project cycle.
Build productive partnerships with key stakeholders among UN agencies and NGOs to share knowledge and resources.
Formulate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for field supply chain support and fleet management.
Plan and manage the shipment of goods, selecting the best transport means and managing all related administrative procedures.
Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery arrangements, developing and following up on delivery schedules. 1
Prepare and update delivery trackers, ensuring accurate data provision to stakeholders. 1
Provide input to country programme planning and advise on logistical requirements for the office and Annual Work Plans. 1
Coordinate logistics support for ongoing operations in the field, including air, land, sea, or rail. 1
Prepare supply and support plans, deployment timelines, and budget requirements, developing contingency plans to maximize logistical effectiveness. 1
Carry out other relevant tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
A university degree in Logistics, Transport, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in logistics, administrative, and/or office management.
Working knowledge of English and Ukrainian is essential.
Candidates must be nationals of Ukraine.
Strong results focus, teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 1

Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as Logistics, Transport, Business Administration, or Economics. The educational qualifications must be obtained from an institution accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in logistics, administrative, and/or office management. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage supply chain operations effectively and efficiently, particularly in a humanitarian or development context.
Languages: Proficiency in both English and Ukrainian is mandatory for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
