Duties and Responsibilities: The Cooling Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: conducting policy and technical analysis by researching guidelines and resources for Pledge Implementation commitments; contributing to the development of a policy toolkit; coordinating technical and steering committee reviews for publications; identifying case studies showcasing best practices in cooling policy and technology; organizing quarterly coordination calls among Cool Coalition members; tracking workplan progress and reporting quarterly; engaging with membership to map strategic priorities; convening working groups; organizing Contact Group meetings for the Intergovernmental Committee on Cooling; providing technical support for the Annual Ministerial Roundtable at COP30; developing structured country engagement strategies; conducting needs assessments for Pledge signatories; facilitating working groups and delivering training sessions; preparing briefing notes and presentations; and organizing calls, workshops, and webinars in line with the governance and workplan of the Cool Coalition.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent additional experience) in environmental science or engineering. They should have at least 3 years of professional experience related to sustainable cooling policies and solutions, particularly in buildings and cities or in addressing extreme heat. Prior experience in analysis and research within a cooling context is highly desirable, and experience working with emerging economies is considered a plus.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree, such as a Master's degree, in a relevant field such as environmental science or engineering. Equivalent additional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education, emphasizing the importance of practical knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable cooling.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sustainable cooling policies and solutions.
