Job Overview: The National PPG Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Design Expert (PDE) in the development of the Project Preparation Grant (PPG) workplan. This position involves providing technical inputs, conducting data analysis, and ensuring proper documentation for the development of the Project Document (Prodoc). The incumbent will be responsible for contributing to various aspects of project design, including baseline assessments, target landscape selection, project strategy formulation, and Prodoc preparation. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National PPG Specialist include:
PPG Design: Contributing technical inputs to the PPG Workplan, assisting in the development of methodological frameworks for project components, providing technical support to thematic consultants, and consolidating and reviewing technical reports and background documents.
Baseline Assessment: Conducting desktop analysis of relevant forestry, biodiversity conservation, and land use information, analyzing the baseline situation relevant to the project context, and documenting existing capacities and relevant baseline investments.
Target Landscapes: Supporting the PDE in developing landscape/site selection criteria, providing technical assistance on target landscape selection, ensuring clear delineation of project target landscapes, and analyzing the status and drivers of biodiversity loss.
Project Strategy: Proposing concrete project activity plans, establishing indicator baselines, supporting budgeting and cofinancing efforts, and assisting in the preparation of the project’s strategic workplan.
ProDoc Preparation: Supporting the PDE with reviews and comments in the preparation of the FAO-GEF Project Document, addressing stakeholder comments, and contributing to other relevant components of the project documentation.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the National PPG Specialist position include:
A university degree in forestry, biodiversity conservation, environmental management, agriculture, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of strong practical experience in forestry and/or biodiversity conservation in Indonesia.
Full proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Nationality of Indonesia or residency in the country with a valid work permit. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate FAO core competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.
