Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the consultant include:
  • Drafting CEO endorsement documents and appendices for the six child projects of the GCMP, ensuring that all materials are consistent and adhere to established language standards and GEF style guidelines.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, international organizations, and consultants, to gather inputs and finalize project documents.
  • Ensuring that all documentation reflects the objectives and requirements of the GEF-funded programme and aligns with the overarching goals of the Stockholm and Minamata Conventions.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of existing project documents to ensure coherence and compliance with GEF standards.
  • Providing expert advice and recommendations on best practices for drafting and presenting project documents.
  • Maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project to facilitate smooth coordination and timely completion of tasks.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental science, environmental management, sustainable development, international relations, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • Proven experience in drafting comprehensive GEF project documents is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, international organizations, and consultants, to gather inputs and finalize project documents is required.
  • Familiarity with the rules of the UN, particularly processes related to project development and the roles of various parties and stakeholders, is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as environmental science, environmental management, sustainable development, or international relations. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of qualifying experience, indicating that the organization values practical experience alongside formal education.
