Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Manager will be tasked with a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting financial overviews and monthly financial reporting; implementing financial systems, routines, and procedures; monitoring budget control and cash flow; providing reports and analyses; performing account reconciliations; managing financial management routines and systems; developing and updating standard operating procedures; ensuring the implementation of anti-corruption policies; and providing line management and training to staff with financial responsibilities. The role also involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that financial practices align with NRC's mission and objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess senior financial management experience, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Proficiency in modern accounting systems and computer software is essential. The ideal candidate should have experience in remote team management, supervision, and support, as well as exposure to start-up and exit scenarios. Familiarity with complex and volatile contexts, especially those involving displaced populations, is crucial. Knowledge of the Myanmar context is highly desirable, along with fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background is required for this position, typically including a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Professional certifications in finance or accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, are advantageous and may be preferred by the organization.
Experience: The position requires significant experience in financial management, ideally within the humanitarian sector. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing financial operations in challenging environments, demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and lead teams effectively.
