Job Overview: The EHA Coordinator is a technical reference for the mission, responsible for contributing to the development of Solidarités International's strategy by proposing a sectoral strategy in the field of water, hygiene, and sanitation (EHA). The coordinator ensures the quality and relevance of the technical approaches proposed and aligns EHA activities with the organization's overall objectives and the needs of the populations served. The role involves coordinating the project cycle, particularly the operational monitoring of EHA programs implemented in the country. The coordinator also contributes to the capitalization and improvement of EHA methods and techniques used by Solidarités International. The position requires strong leadership in EHA projects, participation in project writing, and operational follow-up of ongoing programs, especially in the context of cholera response and emergency interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The EHA Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:
Lead EHA projects on the mission, ensuring effective implementation and monitoring.
Participate in the writing of project proposals during the proposal season and prepare activity reports.
Familiarize with the EHA mission strategy for 2024 and lead ongoing and upcoming projects, including the EHA strategy for 2026/203
Represent the organization in coordination meetings and lead the Cholera Working Group.
Ensure operational follow-up of ongoing EHA programs and maintain a strong response capacity for emergencies.
Act as the focal point for EHA on various sites, particularly in Nzulo, Komanda, and Rhoe.
Diversify funding sources and expand intervention areas to increase operational volume.
Collaborate with community mobilization efforts and promote hygiene practices and sanitation methodologies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a higher education degree in hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, rural development, construction, public health, or project management. Additionally, candidates should have over 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 5 years in a similar position. Technical skills in WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) are essential, along with knowledge of water infrastructure construction and community mobilization methodologies. Strong organizational and communication skills are also required.
Educational Background: A university degree in hydraulic engineering, civil engineering, rural development, construction, public health, or project management is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid academic background that supports their technical expertise in the field of water, hygiene, and sanitation.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 5 years in a similar role. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges and dynamics of humanitarian work, particularly in the context of water, hygiene, and sanitation interventions.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory. Proficiency in English and Swahili is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse teams and communities served by the organization.

The salary is competitive, starting at EUR 2860 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 80
