Job Overview: The People and Culture Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance workplace culture, employee engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion across UNICEF Indonesia and Timor-Leste Country Offices. This role involves working with a dedicated team of People and Culture practitioners overseeing a workforce of around 320 personnel. The manager will be responsible for talent acquisition, performance management, change management, organizational design, DEI initiatives, and staff development to ensure a high-performing workforce capable of delivering UNICEF's programs effectively. The position requires a proven track record in leading organizational culture and DEI initiatives, advising managers through organizational change, and supervising a team, with familiarity with the UN Common System being highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management of the People and Culture Unit, ensuring effective operations and alignment with UNICEF's mission.
Provide technical leadership in People and Culture, guiding the team in best practices and innovative approaches.
Act as a business partner to Senior Management Teams in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, aligning People and Culture strategies with organizational goals.
Develop and implement strategic People and Culture management initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
Oversee the implementation of assigned People & Culture services, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
Lead learning and capacity development initiatives to enhance staff skills and competencies.
Conduct People & Culture data analysis to inform decision-making and improve workforce management.
Required Qualifications: • An Advanced University Degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology, social sciences, or a related field is required. • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in human resource management within an international organization or large corporation. • Proven experience in leading organizational culture and DEI initiatives. • Experience in advising and supporting managers through organizational change is highly desirable. • Prior experience supervising a team and familiarity with the UN Common System is an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an Advanced University Degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology, social sciences, or another related field. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of human resource management in an international context.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in human resource management, preferably within an international organization or large corporation. Candidates should have a proven track record in leading organizational culture and DEI initiatives, as well as experience in advising and supporting managers through organizational change. Prior experience in supervising a team and familiarity with the UN Common System is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration within the diverse workforce.
