Job Overview: The Young Associate position within the Development Research Unit of the OECD's Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD) is designed for a recent graduate who will contribute to the redesign and transformation of the flagship report and donor profiles for 2025, as well as the delivery of a new thematic report in 202
The role involves supporting the development of the 2026 edition of the OECD Aid for Trade report, working under the supervision of the Head of Unit. The selected candidate will engage in research, analysis, and drafting, while also coordinating outreach efforts and maintaining collaboration across various teams and partner organizations. This position is pivotal in enhancing the impact of development co-operation policy and financing, particularly in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the post-2030 agenda.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Young Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Supporting the creative process for redesigning and producing the new Flagship report, which involves conducting market research and consulting with key stakeholders such as users, partners, and professional editors.
Conducting research and analysis to synthesize findings and draft content for the 2026 New Outlook report and the 2026 Aid for Trade report.
Performing background research to inform the annotated agenda for bi-annual meetings of the Network of Chief Economists of International Development Agencies and Finance Institutes.
Developing and maintaining collaboration across DCD and the OECD to identify opportunities for mutual benefit.
Liaising with partner organizations involved in the Flagship Report and the Chief Economist Network.
Supporting the preparation and delivery of strategic communications for the 2026 Flagship report, including organizing events and creating presentations.
Identifying opportunities for disseminating the flagship reports to new communities, particularly academic researchers in low- or middle-income countries.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background in international development, public diplomacy, economics, political science, international relations, or a related discipline. Candidates must have graduated between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
