The organization operates in 26 countries and employs a total of 3,200 staff, including expatriates, national employees, and volunteers. SI's interventions are characterized by professionalism and respect for local cultures, and they have a regional office in Dakar, Senegal, serving the Sahel region. SI has maintained a presence in Togo since August 2023, conducting interventions for displaced persons, refugees, and host communities, particularly in the northern regions of Togo and Benin. The organization collaborates with national and international NGOs and is currently funded by ECHO and CDCS, with plans to seek additional funding from other donors for future projects.

Job Overview:
The Grants Manager will be responsible for developing project proposals in collaboration with program coordinators and support staff, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, preparing reports, and managing relationships with partners. The role involves creating a new Grants department and strengthening the capacity of SI and its partners in proposal writing, reporting, and understanding donor expectations. The initial focus will be on developing three project proposals for 2025, including two renewals for ECHO and CDCS, and one new proposal for BHA. The position requires adaptability due to the evolving security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security situation in northern Togo and Benin, which may impact humanitarian access and necessitate innovative solutions for effective assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop project proposals in collaboration with program coordinators and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Act as the focal point for communication within the mission.
  • Create the Grants department and enhance the skills of SI and partner teams in proposal writing and reporting.
  • Monitor and evaluate project implementation and partner performance.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from various donors.
  • Adapt strategies to address security constraints and ensure effective humanitarian assistance.
  • Collaborate with national and international NGOs to strengthen partnerships and project outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports to donors and stakeholders. 1
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to grants management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong background in grants management and knowledge of various donors.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage stress effectively.
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in international relations, development and humanitarian action, political science, or a related field is required. Candidates with equivalent qualifications may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least one year of experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in grants management or related fields. Previous experience in proposal writing and donor relations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is also required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.

  • The salary is competitive, starting at EUR 2310 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 70
  • SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a break system is in place, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days accrued. Expatriates receive comprehensive health insurance coverage, including medical, dental, and repatriation expenses. Living conditions in Lomé are relatively pleasant, with access to various amenities, although security precautions are advised.
