Duties and Responsibilities: The selected intern will have the opportunity to work on various themes, including network interconnection management, application design, and user support. The intern will be expected to assist in the implementation of ICT projects, support the development of applications, and provide technical assistance to users. Responsibilities may also include participating in team meetings, contributing to project planning, and collaborating with other staff members to ensure the effective use of ICT resources within UNICEF's operations. The intern will be involved in hands-on tasks that will enhance their understanding of ICT in a humanitarian context and provide them with valuable experience in a professional setting.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for an internship at UNICEF, candidates must meet the following criteria: be at least 18 years old; be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral program, or be a recent graduate who obtained their degree within the last two years; have a strong academic record demonstrated by recent academic documents; have no relatives in the direct line of authority of the internship supervisor; and not have been disqualified under UNICEF's child safeguarding standards. Proficiency in French is required, and knowledge of English is an asset. A commitment to UNICEF's causes is a significant advantage.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of computer science. Students in their third year of undergraduate studies in computer science may also qualify for this internship. A strong command of French is required, along with a good knowledge of English. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
Experience: The internship is designed for individuals who are either currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or have recently graduated. Therefore, prior professional experience is not mandatory, but any relevant experience in ICT or related fields will be considered an advantage. The internship aims to provide practical experience to those who may not have had the opportunity to work in a professional environment before.

The placement will be at the UNICEF office in Lomé, and the selected candidate must provide proof of medical insurance covering the entire internship period. The intern is expected to work 40 hours per week and is entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month, including for medical reasons. The intern will receive a monthly allowance paid by the hiring office and a per diem according to UN applicable rates for missions outside their duty station. The intern will be provided with necessary work equipment during their internship.
