Job Overview: The HR Coordinator for the SI Syria Mission plays a crucial role within the Coordination Management Team, overseeing various aspects of human resources management. This includes HR planning and strategy, recruitment and onboarding, policy implementation, performance management, employee relations, HR administration, and training and development. The HR Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective human resource management that aligns with the mission's objectives while fostering a positive work environment. The position involves managing three direct reports and acting as a functional manager for HR/Admin Managers across four bases. The role is particularly challenging due to the diverse HR needs across different field offices and the complexities of operating in multiple countries with varying regulations and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security concerns.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Coordinator's duties include:
Developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the mission's objectives.
Overseeing the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding of new staff.
Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures across all field offices.
Managing performance evaluation processes and employee relations issues.
Coordinating training and development initiatives to enhance staff skills and capabilities.
Providing support and guidance to HR teams in the field to ensure alignment with overall mission goals.
Addressing security concerns related to HR management in volatile regions.
Facilitating communication and coordination among multiple teams across different countries.
Adapting HR practices to meet the evolving needs of the mission.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Administration, or Finance. Additionally, a minimum of five years of experience in a similar HR role is required, with at least five years in the humanitarian sector. Experience in the Syrian context is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate proven technical expertise in recruitment, performance management, and human resources information management. Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, adaptability, and leadership skills are essential.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Administration, Finance, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective HR management in a complex humanitarian context.
Experience: The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in human resources management, particularly within the humanitarian sector. Experience in the Syrian context is highly valued, as it provides insight into the unique challenges and dynamics of the region. Candidates should have a proven track record in recruitment, performance management, and HR administration.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered an added advantage. Strong language skills are essential for effective communication within the diverse teams and stakeholders involved in the mission.
Additional Notes: This is a salaried position with a starting gross salary of EUR 2860 per month, which includes a base salary of EUR 2600 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 785 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. The contract is for a short-term duration of 12 months, with a system of breaks implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months, along with a USD 850 break allowance. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. The organization is committed to preventing all forms of abuse and discrimination and adheres to a zero-tolerance policy regarding such issues.
