Job Overview:
The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing UNRWA's fundraising efforts through innovative digital strategies. This position requires the specialist to design and implement effective fundraising strategies aimed at acquiring, retaining, and growing individual donors. The specialist will need to understand diverse audience segments and tailor engagement strategies accordingly. The role also involves managing paid media campaigns across various channels, developing performance marketing strategies, and overseeing the creation of engaging content. The specialist will be responsible for researching and launching new digital channels that align with UNRWA's fundraising goals, as well as managing partnerships with digital vendors and influencers. Additionally, the specialist will lead a team, build capacity, and support data analysis and reporting to optimize fundraising performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of fundraising strategies to acquire, retain, and grow individual donors.
  • Tailor messaging and engagement strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Innovate fundraising approaches and pilot creative strategies.
  • Segment donor audiences to optimize acquisition funnels.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Experience team for a seamless donor journey.
  • Plan and manage paid media campaigns across various channels.
  • Develop performance marketing strategies with clear KPIs.
  • Manage ad agencies and media partners for effective campaign execution.

  • Research and launch new digital channels and products. 1
  • Build and manage partnerships with digital vendors and influencers. 1
  • Supervise and build the capacity of the team. 1
  • Manage the individual donor database and analyze performance data. 1
  • Track and report on campaign performance to optimize results. 1
  • Undertake special projects to support the Private Partnerships team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in marketing, business administration, communications, social sciences, international relations, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of two continuous years of international experience outside UNRWA and the candidate's country of citizenship.
  • Proven experience in managing digital marketing campaigns across various paid media channels.
  • Experience in managing digital marketing and creative agencies.
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing performance data using Google Analytics.
  • Experience in content creation for fundraising across online and offline channels.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing funnels and donor engagement strategies.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree, preferably a Master's degree or equivalent, in fields such as marketing, business administration, communications, social sciences, international relations, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of digital fundraising and engagement strategies.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant work experience, with a strong emphasis on international experience. Candidates must have a minimum of two continuous years of experience working outside of UNRWA and their country of citizenship. This experience should include managing digital marketing campaigns and working with various digital marketing channels and agencies.

Languages:
The specialist must have an excellent command of spoken and written English. Proficiency in Arabic is preferred, as it will enhance communication with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for 12 months, with the consultant required to work 22 days per month, from Sunday to Thursday, during regular office hours in Amman. The expected start date is as soon as possible. The consultancy is equivalent to a P3 level position, with a daily rate of $31
  • If the consultancy is conducted remotely, the consultant is expected to travel to UNRWA Headquarters in Amman for one week every three months. It is important to note that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
