Job Posting Organization:
The Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator Project (GGJAP) is part of the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP), which is funded and managed by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Established to enhance youth employment and entrepreneurship, GGJAP operates in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia, leveraging UNDP's experience with the SDG Accelerator for SMEs methodology. This project aims to support sustainable business development and commercial green growth in SMEs, contributing to the local transition to a green and sustainable economy.

Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator Project. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and managing the UNDP Jordan Green Growth Hub. The coordinator will support the development of project tools, assist in budget formulation, and ensure compliance with UNDP regulations. The role also includes overseeing the implementation of two 5-month Accelerators each year, aimed at supporting established entrepreneurs and SMEs, particularly youth-led enterprises, in developing business plans that promote green growth and create job opportunities for youth. The Project Coordinator will work closely with management consulting firms to deliver strategic business development consulting and ensure that the project meets its objectives effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
  • Coordinating with the Regional Youth Project Portfolio Team and facilitating stakeholder engagement.
  • Reviewing project tools and providing feedback on their applicability.
  • Activating and managing the UNDP Jordan Green Growth Hub for knowledge exchange and youth engagement.
  • Supporting the development of project TORs and tools for efficient implementation.
  • Assisting in budget formulation and procurement planning.
  • Organizing meetings, training sessions, and project events, and preparing reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and regulations.
  • Leading the planning and implementation of assigned projects and measuring performance.
  • Supporting the implementation of two 5-month Accelerators each year, including recruitment of SMEs and facilitating green growth consulting services. 1
  • Conducting regular meetings with project associates in other countries to share learnings. 1
  • Supporting the coordination of youth involvement in the accelerators and collecting data for project management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience with secondary education or four years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field. They should have demonstrable project/programme support experience, particularly in working with multi-stakeholders, including private sector and NGOs. Prior experience in project implementation related to SME business support, green economy, SDG impact, and financing is essential. Candidates should also have experience working on projects funded by international donors and possess strong computer skills for editing and presentation purposes.

Educational Background:
A secondary education is required, while a university degree (bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field will be given due consideration. This educational background is important for understanding the complexities of project management and coordination in the context of sustainable development and entrepreneurship.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience for candidates with secondary education or four years for those with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should include providing project management support and coordination, particularly in the areas of SME business support and green economy initiatives. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders and managing projects effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is required. This bilingual proficiency is essential for effective communication with stakeholders and partners in the region, as well as for reporting and documentation purposes.

The position is full-time and involves working closely with various stakeholders, including local management consulting firms and project partners. The Project Coordinator will be expected to lead the planning and implementation of project activities, ensuring compliance with UNDP regulations. The role may involve travel within the region to facilitate project activities and engage with stakeholders.
