Job Overview:
The Ethics and Compliance Coordinator will work under the authority of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and the functional authority of the Regional Ethics and Compliance Expert at headquarters. The primary role is to ensure the conformity of internal practices and promote good internal control practices. The coordinator will contribute to the success of external audits and ensure the implementation of internal control recommendations. Additionally, the coordinator will play a key role in preventing and addressing abuses while fostering a culture of risk management within the organization. The position involves collaboration with other coordinators and field coordinators to roll out the Safeguarding action plan and assess partnerships with international and national partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Verify the conformity of internal practices and ensure the dissemination of good internal control practices.
  • Actively contribute to the success of external audits and implement internal control recommendations.
  • Prevent and address abuses, establishing a culture of risk management.
  • Collaborate with HR, MEAL, and field coordinators to roll out the Safeguarding action plan.
  • Lead assessments of international and national partners, proposing recommendations for fair partnerships.
  • Serve as the main contact for head office regarding audits, archiving, and internal procedures.
  • Coordinate upcoming external audits and support the implementation of internal audit recommendations.
  • Maintain the Partnerships/Localization agenda with a focus on due diligence and risk management.

Required Qualifications:
  • University level degree, preferably a Master’s degree in International Affairs, Humanitarian or Development studies.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar positions.
  • Advanced knowledge of auditing and compliance.
  • Expertise in donor guidelines and abuse prevention management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for internal communication and coordination.
  • High level of rigor and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt communication styles as needed.

Educational Background:
A university-level degree is required, with a preference for a Master’s degree in fields related to International Affairs, Humanitarian or Development studies. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and compliance requirements.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 2-4 years in similar positions. This experience is crucial for understanding the operational challenges and compliance requirements in humanitarian contexts.

Languages:
English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of French and Myanmar/Burmese is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local partners and stakeholders.

The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 12 months, starting on 07/10/202
  • The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, with additional monthly Per Diem allowances. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization provides a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Breaks are implemented at a rate of 7 working days every three months, with additional rest days granted. Living conditions vary between Bangkok and Yangon, with basic conditions in field bases.
