Job Overview:
The Grants Coordinator serves as the mission's focal point for ensuring accountability to donors. This role involves contributing to the strategic development of the mission, monitoring and identifying funding opportunities that align with SI's country and global strategy, and leading the planning, development, and consolidation of high-quality proposals, reports, and contract modification requests for submission to donors and consortium partners. The Grants Coordinator is responsible for monitoring compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle and building the capacity of both new and existing staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures. Additionally, the role requires proactive follow-up on donor contractual obligations and managing the Reporting and Communication Officer, Grants Officer, and Partnerships Manager. The position also involves addressing specific challenges such as remote management of Grants Managers and the need for a consolidated partnership management framework.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the mission’s strategic development by identifying and pursuing funding opportunities.
  • Lead the planning, development, and consolidation of timely and high-quality proposals, reports, and contract modification requests for submission to donors.
  • Monitor compliance with donor procedures throughout the grant cycle.
  • Build capacity of new and existing staff on internal accountability tools and donor procedures.
  • Proactively follow up on donor contractual obligations.
  • Manage the Reporting and Communication Officer, Grants Officer, and Partnerships Manager.
  • Support the proposal season by providing technical support and coordination to Grants Managers.
  • Ensure coordination between hubs while acting as the focal point to donors.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably 0-2 years.
  • Experience in similar positions, ideally 0-2 years.
  • Technical skills in proposal development, reporting, and contractual management.
  • Experience in partnership management.
  • Excellent writing skills in English.
  • Experience working with ECHO, AFD, and BHA is an asset.
  • Experience in both development and emergency settings is appreciated.
  • Experience in remote management is also an asset.

Educational Background:
