Job Overview:
The Treasury Officer position is integral to the Treasury Client Solutions team, which supports AIIB’s client-facing organization by developing, structuring, and executing transactions that provide financing solutions. The role involves maintaining active communication with various internal departments throughout the project origination cycle, assessing financing requirements, and structuring solutions to meet clients' needs. The Treasury Officer will also support the design and implementation of strategies to enhance the Bank’s capabilities in local currency financing and structured products, ensuring that the financing products are flexible and responsive to client demands. Additionally, the officer will engage in training and knowledge management services for stakeholders and collaborate with client-facing departments to market financing solutions effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, structure, and execute transactions to provide financing solutions through derivatives, structured products, and local currency debt capital markets initiatives.
  • Maintain active dialogue with AIIB’s Investment Operations teams and other internal stakeholders throughout the project origination cycle.
  • Review project documents and assess financing needs as required.
  • Support the design and implementation of strategies to grow the Bank’s capabilities in local currency financing and structured products.
  • Develop flexible financing products in anticipation of or in response to client needs.
  • Participate in relevant internal cross-departmental committees and working groups.
  • Provide training and knowledge management services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with AIIB's client-facing departments in marketing financing solutions.
  • Support relationship management of trading counterparties and service providers. 1
  • Conduct market intelligence of local and international debt capital markets as needed. 1
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and controls at all times.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant transaction experience in financial markets, specifically in fixed income, cross-currency derivatives, structured finance, and local debt capital markets.
  • Experience should be within a development finance institution, investment bank, rating agency, or related capital markets institution.
  • Excellent conceptual understanding and emerging markets structuring experience of fixed-income instruments, including derivatives and structured credit products.
  • Strong business development and structuring skills with a proven track record in emerging markets transactions, particularly in Asia and Latin America.
  • Proven ability to provide effective solutions to clients’ needs and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact directly and independently with senior management of potential clients and partners.

Educational Background:
  • A Master’s degree in finance or a related area is required.
  • Professional designations such as CFA or FRM may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree, provided there is additional relevant experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in transaction roles within financial markets, particularly in areas related to fixed income, derivatives, structured finance, and local debt capital markets. Experience in a development finance institution or investment bank is preferred, along with a strong track record in emerging markets transactions.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory. Additional regional language skills would be considered an advantage, enhancing the ability to engage with diverse clients and stakeholders.
