The specialist will facilitate consultations and capacity strengthening activities with diverse stakeholders, including young feminists, tech experts, and civil society organizations (CSOs), ensuring inclusive and impactful solutions. The role is crucial in supporting the EmPower: Women for Climate Resilient Societies Project, which aims to empower women and marginalized groups in the context of climate resilience and gender justice. The specialist will also coordinate youth engagement initiatives under the "30 for 2030" program, promoting digital and green skills while empowering young leaders in climate justice.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of the UN Women AI School, focusing on ethical AI, productivity tools, and custom solutions to advance gender equality. Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating and providing technical support for the implementation of the UN Women AI School curriculum in the region, focusing on ethical AI and productivity tools.
Supporting the development of projects that address gender biases in AI, particularly in large language models.
Promoting the integration of AI and machine learning to enhance operational efficiency in achieving SDGs related to gender equality and climate action.
Developing toolkits and training materials to address online gender-based violence and promote gender-transformative technology use.
Supporting Gender-Responsive Climate Action Initiatives by coordinating youth-focused activities under the EmPower project.
Collaborating with regional and country-level teams to integrate gender-responsive and youth-driven approaches in climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
Engaging with youth networks, CSOs, and climate action groups to amplify youth and gender-inclusive solutions.
Acting as the focal point for regional partnerships with academia, the private sector, and civil society.
