Job Overview: The Nutrition Officer position is designed to support the day-to-day functions of UNICEF's nutrition program. This role involves providing technical, information management, and logistical support to the nutrition section, the Ministry of Health, and other health and nutrition partners. The officer will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of nutrition programs, focusing on the most vulnerable populations. The position requires a proactive approach to data analysis, reporting, and capacity building, ensuring that all children in the region have equal opportunities to fulfill their potential. The Nutrition Officer will play a crucial role in monitoring and evaluating nutrition activities, ensuring compliance with UNICEF's policies and strategies, and fostering partnerships with government and non-governmental organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Nutrition Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: supporting the nutrition program by collaborating with UNICEF's nutrition section staff and partners; preparing periodic updates by compiling and analyzing data; assisting in capacity building and the development of standard operating procedures; providing inputs for nutrition reporting and collaborating with the Nutrition Cluster; participating in technical meetings with health and nutrition partners; conducting evaluations of supplies and ensuring proper delivery and dissemination of goods; analyzing goods and cash receipts to ensure compliance with payment processes; coordinating with other UNICEF teams; and ensuring high-quality support to UNICEF and its beneficiaries. The officer will also be expected to document achievements related to volunteerism for peace and development, including reporting on mobilized volunteers and activities participated in.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Nutrition Officer position should possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset. They should be adept at working with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community organizations. A solid understanding of nutrition programs and policies, as well as experience in data management and reporting, is essential.
